This is a moving story of a girl's journey to see her estranged mother and the questions the situation raises about love and relationships.Natalie is on a bus trip to see her mother, who had abandoned her family four years earlier. On the way, she thinks about her confusing relationship with her boyfriend Adam and about her even more confusing relationship with her mother. Natalie also brushes up against various strangers who harbour their own stories of love and loss. Nora Raleigh Baskin had dreamed of being a writer since childhood, but it wasn't until she was married with two small children that she began to write seriously. Her first novel, What Every Girl (Except Me) Knows (9780744590456) was followed by Almost Home (9781844286003). Both are semi-autobiographical stories, about girls searching for a place to belong. Nora now teaches creative writing for children, and speaks at schools and libraries across the country.
