Description

Traditional piecing gets a fresh look! Do you love quilting, but are looking for a modern aesthetic? If so, you'll love Sister Sampler Quilts. Inside, you'll find 25 interchangeable sister blocks and 3 sampler quilts that challenge traditional grid layouts with fun, innovative settings. Create block pairs as identical sisters or flip flop the color schemes for a patchier appeal in quilts that beautifully bridge the gap between traditional and modern. Whether you're a beginner or a more advanced quilter, you'll enjoy practicing and perfecting quilting basics, like half-square triangles, flying geese and hourglass blocks, to beautiful effect. Modern traditional quilting is the perfect way to blend old and new techniques to create a quilt that's uniquely yours!

Author description

AnneMarie began quilting in 2006, teaching herself to thread a machine at the same time. It quickly turned into a passionate hobby and in 2010, she started her quilt pattern company, Gen X Quilters (www.genxquilters.com). Quilting marries creativity and precision, the perfect combination for her, as she is trained as an engineer. She has appeared on Quilting Arts TV and her designs are published in Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks Vol. 7 Vol. 8, Quiltmaker's Quilts from 100 Blocks, Fons Porter's Easy Quilts, American Quilter Magazine, Generation Q Magazine and Modern Quilts Unlimited Magazine. AnneMarie specializes in designing Block of the Month Sampler quilts that involve traditional quilt blocks in unusual settings. Sisters' Ten BOM (2013) and Vice Versa BOM (2014) were successful programs that were only available online in downloadable format. The interest in these programs led to collaboration with RJR Fabrics using their Cotton Supreme Solids and is moving Gen X Quilters into a printed pattern line.
