This book is an introduction to the use of additions in clay bodies, from hard materials like stones and glass to combustible matter, fibre, metals and colour. It looks at the work of a range of contemporary international makers who are using additions.

Kathleen Standen studied ceramics at the London Metropolitan University. She was joint winner of the 2010 Contemporary Ceramics Award by Millcove Gallery and in 2011 her work was selected to represent Ireland in the FuLe Museum in Fuping, China. She has exhibited in the UK, Ireland and China and is a member of the Craft Council of Ireland.
