The Southern Highlands in New South Wales is renowned for superb gardens, and three of the best are featured - filmed in early autumn. Presenter Eamonn Katter joins the owners and others who've contributed to the gardens' success, and reveals what makes each garden so special. RED COW FARM embraces cultural diversity displayed in several distinct garden rooms including Abbess' and Monastery gardens. Romantic and spiritual, formal areas lead to wilderness - all with touches of whimsy. PRITTLEWELL is an elegant garden resulting from two decades of devotion from a botanical artist and her husband. Areas of wide-open spaces are a foil for intimate, detailed pockets such as a Japanese garden and pavilion studio. LEYLANDAGREEN has the hallmarks of professional design, which the current owners sought when they wished to add major features such as a swimming pool and tennis court while retaining some pleasing elements they'd inherited.
